You will receive six monthly valuations to keep you informed on progress on your investments. These consist of a current valuation and full record of performance during the period, including details of income received and all transactions made.

We will also provide you with an annual tax year report with all the information you need to complete your annual tax return, containing a capital gains tax summary with detailed calculation schedules and details of all income received and tax paid during the tax year.

In addition, contract notes are sent after every transaction and can be received via email or by first class post.  

Copies of all reports can be sent to your financial adviser if you wish.

With all our services, any income from your portfolio can be either reinvested in your portfolio or paid directly into your bank account on a monthly, quarterly or half yearly basis. We can also arrange fixed payments of income to level out he uneven flow of dividends and interest.

Your assets are held by third party 'AA' or above rated investment banks. We use the back office clearing facilities of institutions such as Man Financial and Saxo Bank to hold deposits and securities on your behalf.  Dealing with firms of this size and stature provides our clients with additional security and peace of mind.  Interest is credited to your portfolio in accordance with FSA rules.

On joining Equitrade Capital you will be allocated your account executive.  Their job is to ensure that all your requirements are taken care of, quickly and efficiently.  You need to know you can speak to an advisor whenever you need to as well as knowing that if you have an administrative query, the right people are on hand straight away.  We provide you with a direct line to your account executive who is on hand from 8:00am to 9:00pm, five days a week.

For those clients that require more immediate access to the brokers, we provide you with Skype, MSN and AOL messenger addresses so you can communicate with your broker from your PC or Laptop.

All our clients can subscribe to the SMS Alerts service.  This service has proved extremely popular for those clients that are simply unable to constantly watch their portfolios or speak to their broker during the day.  The SMS alerts service provides a number of functions:

• The latest news concerning stocks in your portfolio or on your watch list sent to your mobile phone.

• The latest intraday trade recommendations sent to you.

• Up-to-date valuations of your portfolio sent regularly to your mobile.

For our more active traders, emails containing the latest recommendations with stops and targets are sent out in our Daily Reports in the morning and evening to cover both the US and UK market opening.

A CFD is simply an agreement to exchange the difference in value of a particular share between the time at which a contract is opened and the time at which it is closed.  CFD trading is very similar to normal share dealing. You deal at the cash price of the share, and pay a commission which is calculated as a percentage of the value of the transaction. Our standard commission rate for UK shares is just 0.10%

When you open a position, however, you do not have to pay for the full value of the shares. Instead you put up a deposit, from just 5% for some shares.

CFDs have no fixed expiry date, giving you the freedom to close your position when you choose. While your position remains open, your account is debited or credited to reflect interest and dividend adjustments.

Being a geared, derivative product, CFDs carry a higher degree of risk than ordinary share dealing and is a service only available to Intermediate Customers ie. customers that can demonstrate sufficient experience.  Please read the CFD Trading Fact Sheet below and read the risk warning carefully.

Extended settlement share dealing can be a useful method of trading equities on a shorter time frame and is suitable for those clients looking for short term trading opportunities.  Equitrade Capital can offer extended settlement on purchases of up to 25 working days ie. T+25 with a deposit (normally a percentage of the total consideration).  This means that as long as you sell the shares within 23 days, settlement date is never reached.  With no commission to pay on the exit (or closjng element of the trade), this can often be a useful tool for active traders.

Despite greater access to technology and more advanced methods of communication, our preferred method of relaying information to our clients is by telephone and personal meetings.  We place great emphasis on the personal service we can provide you which means you can feel more confident knowing your investment affairs are being monitored effectively.

All our clients are offered the facility to transmit their orders via telephone to their own broker and are provided with a direct Freephone number in order to do so.  Unlike many of our competitors we do not charge an additional fee or commission for using this service.  Knowing what our clients want is one of our strongest qualities and we endeavour to provide as much support as possible both in person and over the telephone.
